Details: According to the investigation, starting in 2023, two managers of the Odesa Quartering and Operation Department of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine purchased property for the army at significantly inflated prices during their tenure, which led to an overpayment of almost UAH 18 million of budget funds.

It was established that the officials improperly performed their official duties and did not ensure the verification of the economic reasonableness of prices during the purchase of beds for the military. As a result, the state suffered substantial losses, and the funds that were supposed to go to the real needs of the military were actually “thrown into the air.”
Both officials were notified of suspicions under Part 4 of Art. 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – negligent attitude of a military official to service, which caused significant damage, committed under martial law.
It is about two separate episodes covering different periods of management leadership.
One of the suspects headed KEU from November 2022 to August 2023, the other from August 2023 to December 2024.
In January 2026, both officials were detained in accordance with Art. 615 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The court chose preventive measures in the form of detention with the possibility of bail in the amount of: 17 million 638 thousand 400 hryvnias for one of the suspects, 998 thousand 400 hryvnias for the other.
