The Kyiv District Court of the occupied Simferopol sent to custody the alleged perpetrator of the attempt in Sevastopol, as a result of which the chief of staff of the Azov Naval District of the Crimean Naval Base Valery Trankovsky was killed, the Russian agency “Interfax” reported on November 19 with reference to the press service of the FSB on the peninsula.

The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation previously indicated that it had detained two residents of occupied Crimea, suspected of blowing up Trankovsky’s car.

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported that a 38-year-old resident of Sevastopol and a 47-year-old resident of Yalta were detained. The agency said that the detainees are “cooperating with law enforcement agencies and testifying.”

According to the version of the investigation, the suspects were involved in the detonation of a military vehicle, “perpetrated on the instructions of the Security Service of Ukraine.” The FSB claims that SBU officers are behind the organization of the explosion (the Ukrainian special service does not deny that it was their special operation).

In a video released by the FSB, the detained resident of Yalta said that he was recruited in the summer of 2023 and that he planted an explosive device under a car on the instructions of Ukraine. The arrested resident of Sevastopol said in the video that she was following the car of a Russian soldier on the task of the curator. It is not known under what conditions the recording was made.

The FSB said that during a search in the garage of a detained resident of Yalta, they found an improvised explosive device with an explosive mass of 1.2 kilograms in TNT equivalent.

On November 13, a car exploded in Sevastopol, in which the captain of the 1st rank, the chief of staff of the Azov naval district of the Crimean naval base Valery Trankovsky was. He died from his injuries. The Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case under the articles on terrorist attack and illegal trafficking of explosives.
