Protesters in the capital Podgorica chanted “Resign!” and “Murderers!”, demanding the resignation of Minister of Internal Affairs Danylo Saranovich and Deputy Prime Minister for Security and Defense Aleks Becic.
“You failed to protect us, so resign!” – said the representative of the student group that organized the rally, Milo Perovych.
A few hours earlier, at a rally in Cetinje, where the tragedy occurred, hundreds of people observed a moment of silence for the victims of the shooting.
Protesters in Cetinje and Podgorica also demanded “demilitarization” of society by confiscating illegal weapons, high taxes on gun ownership and a moratorium on issuing new licenses and revising already issued ones, but under strict criteria.
After the tragedy, the Montenegrin authorities quickly announced the adoption of a strict new gun law and other tough measures aimed at combating illegal weapons, of which there are many in the country.
On Sunday, police reported conducting raids in several parts of the country, during which they confiscated about 20 weapons, more than 500 rounds of ammunition and explosives.

His own sister was among those killed. Later, the criminal shot himself.
It was the second fatal shooting in Cetinje in less than three years. In August 2022, a gunman killed 10 people, including two children, and was eliminated.
On January 3, in the capital of Montenegro, Podgorica, hundreds of people protested against the inaction of the authorities to prevent the shooting on January 1.
