Details: The head of the autonomous region Gagauzia Yevgeny Hutsul was sentenced to seven years in prison on Tuesday in the case of illegal financing of the pro -Russian Party “Thor”.

In the Kremlin, the sentence was called “illegal pressure on competitors”, and the State Duma deputy Konstantin Zatulin in general suggested to solve the “problem”, the promotion of Russian troops “in the direction of the border of Ukraine with Transnistria and Moldova”.
Commenting on Russia’s reaction to Bashkan Gagauzia, Poshay said that Moldova “resolutely rejects interference in internal affairs”, and “the times when Moscow dictated to us what to do for a long time.”
“Moldova is doing what is good for her citizens, clearly adhering to her national interests – strengthening peace and well -being within a large European family,” he added.
When asked if the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Ambassador for consultations will be called by Moscow’s statement, Poshay said: “We will undoubtedly consider all the options to protect Moldova’s national interests.”
We will remind, Eugene Hutsul was accused of systematic import from the Russian Federation to finance the activities of the fugitive oligarch-fugitive party during 2019-2022.
In March, Hutsul was detained at the Chisinau Airport and taken into custody, which was later replaced by house arrest.
The prosecutor’s office asked for nine years of imprisonment for Bashkan Gagauzia.
