On November 28, deputies of the Lviv City Council voted to rename Technical Street in honor of former People’s Deputy and linguist Iryna Farion, who died as a result of an attempt on her.

Details: It is about a small street. The technical length is 133 m, it runs from the street. Mateyka to the junction of Ustiyanovicha and Bibliotechnaya streets and connects the main building of the Lviv Polytechnic National University and Ivan Franko Park
It is reported that the Svoboda faction insisted on renaming this very street in honor of Iryna Farion, stressing that the linguist worked for many years at the Lviv Polytechnic, which is located nearby.
In different years, this street was called Kleinovska bichna, in honor of the Lviv businessman Jan Klein, Technytska, Technikerstrasse, Technikska, and since 1945 it was called Technicna in honor of the university.

Prehistory:
- On the evening of July 19, 2024, an attempt was made on former People’s Deputy Iryna Farion in Lviv, it happened on Masaryk Street. Farion later died in hospital.
- On July 25, a suspect in the murder of public activist and linguist Iryna Farion was detained in Dnipro. The 18-year-old detainee is a resident of Dnipro. While preparing for the crime, he rented at least three apartments in Lviv. Currently, the investigation is inclined to the opinion that the shooter is only an executor.
- On July 26, the court arrested suspect Vyacheslav Zinchenko for 2 months without bail. After choosing a preventive measure, the young man told journalists that he did not kill the linguist.
