Prehistory:
- On January 31, a system accident occurred in Ukraine’s energy system, as a result of which a significant part of Ukraine was cut off.
- As the mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko reported earlier, 3,419 high-rise buildings remained without heating — mostly on the right bank of the capital.
- First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal announced on Saturday evening that in all regions of Ukraine electricity supply has been restored after a system crash.
- President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that the causes of the large-scale accident in the energy sector are still being investigated, but there is still no confirmation of external intervention or a cyber attack, rather it happened due to icing of the lines.
