According to the minister, Russian strikes also caused fires in residential buildings and farm buildings in the Brovarsky, Obukhivskyi and Boryspilskyi districts of the Kyiv region.
“In general, EMS workers rescued 40 people across the country. Among them is a family from Brovarshchyna: mother, father, grandmother and a five-year-old child. Everyone was given medical assistance,” Klymenko said.
In addition, the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that Russian troops also attacked Lviv Oblast, Kirovohrad Oblast, and Cherkasy Oblast at night.
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that in total, the Russian military used 36 missiles and 242 unmanned aerial vehicles (about 150 of them – Shahedi) for the strike. In particular, the Armed Forces confirmed the use of a medium-range ballistic missile by the Russian Federation from the Kapustyn Yar range in the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation. Despite the fact that, as the military reported, 244 targets were neutralized by air defense, 18 missiles and 16 strike UAVs were hit at 19 locations.
The Russian Defense Ministry admitted this morning that it had used the Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile to strike Ukraine, calling it a response to an alleged Ukrainian strike on the residence of Russian leader Vladimir Putin in the Novgorod region. Ukraine and its Western partners deny that such a strike took place, saying that Russia is thus trying to justify new attacks and delay peace talks.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiga said that in response to the attack, Ukraine will initiate an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council, a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council, as well as a response within the framework of the EU, the Council of Europe and the OSCE.
