“The Holosiiv police department received a report on hotline 102 from a local resident that her ex-husband is cruel to an animal,” the message reads.
It is reported that the woman provided the police with video recordings, which show how a 30-year-old man, in the presence of their common minor child, mocks the dog because it defecated in a place not designated for this purpose.
“Investigators removed the injured animal and transferred it to a specialized shelter, where it is provided with the necessary assistance. Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 1 of Article 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – cruelty to animals” – informs the police.
A pre-trial investigation is ongoing. The sanction of the article provides for a punishment of up to three years of imprisonment.
