In Kyiv, law enforcement officers detained a 37-year-old coach of the sports section, who is suspected of committing sexual violence against a minor girl.

The man took advantage of the child’s trust and special state of health. He faces imprisonment.

This is reported by the capital police and urban prosecutor’s office.

According to the investigation, the man, who was a professional athlete and the founder of a sports public organization, conducted Brazilian jiu-jitsu training for children.

For a long time, he had individual classes with a girl with a special health condition.

“During one of these classes, being alone with the child, the man undressed her and sexually assaulted her. The coach took advantage of the fact that the girl has a speech impediment, trusts him and will not tell her parents.” – said the prosecutor’s office.

As the police noted, the perpetrator repeatedly committed such actions against the 11-year-old girl.

The police arrested the suspect while trying to commit lewd acts. He was informed of the suspicion under part 4 of Article 153 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – sexual violence committed against a person who has not reached the age of fourteen, regardless of her voluntary consent.

For the committed crime, the defendant faces from five to ten years in prison. The suspect was sentenced to a 60-day preventive measure.

Previously in Transcarpathia imprisoned 52-year-old man for sexual violence against minor girls.
