“The head of one of the inter-district medical and social expert commissions demanded funds from a demobilized serviceman who, as a result of the injuries he received, was declared unfit for service and removed from the military register for assistance in obtaining the II disability group,” the report says.
The law enforcement officers established that “the head of MSEK, for the purpose of illegal personal enrichment and using her official position, demanded 2,000 dollars from a demobilized serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for assistance in establishing the II group of disability indefinitely as a result of injuries received by her husband.”
According to law enforcement officials, the official was informed of suspicion under part 1 of Art. 368 (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an illegal benefit by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
“The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of a fine from one thousand to four thousand non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens or probation supervision for a term of up to three years, or deprivation of liberty for a term of two to four years, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term up to three years,” the police say.

According to the SBU, since the beginning of 2024, 77 persons involved in corruption crimes in the sphere of activity of medical and social expert commissions (MSEK) have been exposed, and seven criminal groups have been identified among the representatives of the commissions.
