In Kiev, on October 3, the heating season for hospitals, schools, kindergartens and other social institutions begins, the mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said

“The supply of heat to these institutions is performed on their individual applications. This algorithm is justified for such institutions, given their social orientation. Therefore, the decision on the need to connect to heat is made by the heads of institutions and institutions. Considering the cooling, from Friday, the social sphere already has the opportunity to connect to heating, ”he wrote in the telegram.

At the same time, Klitschko did not report when the heating season began in residential buildings.

“Before making such a decision, we have to weigh all the factors: the rational use of energy, the inappropriateness of unnecessary expenses for heat by residents, as well as the situation in the power system. Not only current but also forecast temperatures should be taken into account to save money from city residents and energy resources, ”the mayor explained.

According to the Boris Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory, the meteorological autumn in Kiev began on September 24 – a week later than the climatic norm. Two days later – 26 – was the coldest day of September.
