On Monday, January 13, in Kharkiv, a man attacked a minibus of TCC employees in order to pull his nephew out of it. The police conducted a special operation and arrested the attacker.
Serhiy Bolvinov, head of the investigative department of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, announced this.
The incident happened at 20:10. The relevant video was shared by local Telegram channels and Russian propagandists.
According to the law enforcement officers, civilian cars blocked the road of the minibus transporting the mobilized. Two men and a woman came out of them. One of the attackers had a gun. They broke the glass in the minibus of TCC and SP employees and started a fight with them.
After that, a special operation Interception was introduced, and it was possible to detain one of the attackers. He turned out to be a 49-year-old entrepreneur who tried in this way “save” his nephew from mobilization.
Bolvinov said that Ukraine is a legal state, and methods “of the Wild West” in it “not just unacceptable, but also illegal.”
“Kharkov has all the forces and means to maintain order, there will be no chaos here, no matter how the Russian special services and propagandists dream about it,” Bolvinov assured.
The police added that the detainee had already been informed of the suspicion of hooliganism and obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine — this is part 4 Art. 296 and ch. 1 Art. 114−1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
During a search of the Tesla car belonging to the detainee, the police found and seized a starter pistol and ammunition for it. The police also seized the car itself.
The nephew, who was taken to be sent to the educational center, is a witness in the case. According to law enforcement officers, he is mobilized.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing. The police are looking for other participants in the event.
