Details: A detailed official statement about Georgia’s position was read to journalists in Strasbourg by the head of the Parliamentary delegation of Geya Tyulukiani, accompanied by her colleague Givi Mikanadze, who headed the Georgian delegation in the past convocation.
Tsulukiani emphasized the fact that PACE confirmed the authority of the Georgian delegation appointed by the new parliament. “Despite the fact that our powers have been approved, we have stopped working at the Parliamentary Assembly from today,” she said.
The politician explained this decision by the fact that the Georgian deputies are indignant with “unfair and unjustified” requirements put forward by the Assembly, above all, the PACE requirement to appoint a new parliamentary election by Georgia.
“The adoption of this would be equivalent to the betrayal of the vast majority of our voters and society. It exceeds the PACE competence, encroaches on the sovereignty of our country and ignores the will of voters,” – said the deputy whose speech is published by the Georgian Radio Liberty service.
“Members of our parliamentary delegation will restore their participation in the Parliamentary Assembly only after the unjust attitude towards the Georgian state and the people will change, blackmail will stop, and every official or unofficial representative of governments, as well as the forces behind them will be aware It will not force the Georgian authorities to go to any anti -group steps, “she also said.
The Tsulukiani, as in the comment of Euro, has confirmed that Georgia remains in the Council of Europe.
