He is expected to leave La Sante Prison on Monday, November 10.

At the same time, the court forbade Sarkozy to contact the Minister of Justice Gerald Darmanin. The latter visited him in prison on October 29.

A few minutes after the decision was announced, Sarkozy’s lawyer called the court’s decision “a normal application of the criminal procedure code.”

“The next step will be the appeal process. Our task with Sarkozy is to prepare for the appeal hearing,” he added.

The 70-year-old former conservative president was found guilty of conspiring to obtain funds for his 2007 presidential campaign from the late dictator Muammar Gaddafi through his close aides.

He was cleared of all other charges, including corruption and receiving illegal campaign financing.

We will remind: Nicolas Sarkozy has been held in Paris’ La Sante prison since late October after being convicted in the case of Libyan financing of his 2007 presidential campaign.
