For reference
In April 2019, a major fire broke out in the cathedral, which is considered one of the symbols of Paris. The apse cross is not the only element that escaped the fire.
According to Le Parisien, it is twelve meters wide and weighs about two tons. The cross, which is made of iron, decorated with golden sculptures, is the work of the famous architect Viollet-le-Duc.
It is known that during the devastating fire in 2019, the cross fell down almost immediately, thanks to which it was almost unharmed by the fire.
We will remind
UNN previously reported that the reconstruction of the Notre Dame Cathedral should be completed by the end of 2024.
