On June 13, four people were killed in the French Department of Sarta and were seriously injured in an accident involving a bus that transported Ukrainian citizens.

Details: The bus where adults and teenagers from Ukraine was spilled over into a ditch at A81 at 11:58 am, near the town of Degre, between Sille-Le-Guyom and Le-Man-Nore’s solutions.

According to preliminary data, except for four dead and 11 seriously injured 34 people were mild injuries, the prefecture said.

After the accident, the motorway was closed “in both directions” to facilitate evacuation and rescue operations.

87 firefighters from SDIS (Department of Fire Department and Rescue Works) and 49 fire trucks arrived at the scene.

There is currently no additional information about the circumstances of the accident, the number of vehicles that participated in the accident, and the victims.

The prefect of the Department of Sarta Emmanuel Oberre took over the management of rescue operations, and the operational headquarters of the Department (COD) was opened to coordinate the actions of various services operating at the scene. The prefect of the Sarta Department “calls for maximum vigilance in the area and not interfere with the work of emergency services.”

As reported at the Embassy of Ukraine in France, the emergency and authorized ambassador of Ukraine to France Vadim Omelchenko and the Employees of the Embassy were urgently went to the scene.

“We are in constant connection with the prefecture and local services for prompt assistance to the victims and clarifying the circumstances,” the embassy on Facebook said.
