In Donetsk region, winter crops have already been sown on almost more than 56% of the planned areas

“As of November 18, winter wheat has already been sown on 38,000 hectares in the territory of Donetsk region, which is controlled by the Ukrainian authorities. ha, which is 60.3% of the planned area; 0.25 thousand hectares of winter barley were sown in the region. ha, which is 12.5% ​​of the planned areas; winter rye has not yet been sown. In total, 38.46 thousand tons of winter cereals and winter rape were sown in the fields of Donetsk region. ha, which is 56.1% of the planned areas,” the department said.

It is noted that in Donetsk this fall, it is planned to sow winter crops for grain and winter rape in total on an area of ​​68.54 thousand square meters. ha, of which winter grain crops – on an area of ​​65.2 thousand ha and winter rape – on an area of ​​3.34 thousand Ha.

“We plan to sow our agricultural fields with winter wheat on an area of ​​63,000 square meters. ha, with winter rye – by 0.2 thousand ha, winter barley – 2 thousand ha”, – specified in OVA.

The department reminded that in the communities of the Donetsk region, which are close to the front line, farmers decided not to sow the fields with winter crops this fall, but to wait for spring.

“Yes, in the spring we will sow these fields with irrigated crops. Although this will become possible after the improvement of the military situation in the region. As soon as the opportunity arises, we will sow everything,” the department explained.

As reported, in 2021, 1.41 million hectares of land were sown in Donetsk region. In the year of the full-scale invasion, the cultivated area decreased to 406,000 ha. ha, in 2023 – up to 364 thousand Ha. As of now, the enemy occupied about 60% of the territory of the region.
