In Bukovina, the border guard discovered a Range Rover SUV with foreign registration, which was moving in the direction of the Ukrainian-Romanian border, the press service of the State Security Service of Ukraine said in a statement.

According to the border guards, the driver of the car ignored the request of the servicemen to stop and made a dangerous maneuver towards the border guard.

“Kermanych tried to overcome the line of engineering barriers and illegally leave for Romania. During maneuvering, the violator injured one of the border guards. As a result, the serviceman received severe multiple injuries. The victim was hospitalized and operated on, so far there is no threat to his life,” the DPSU emphasized.

It is known that later border guards together with National Police officers found the vehicle – it was abandoned on the outskirts of one of the settlements.

“During the search, law enforcement officers detained six violators who were in a car during an attempt to break through the border. The search for the driver continues,” the DPSU concluded.

On August 28, changes regarding the departure of men under the age of 22, inclusive, entered into force. But border guards warn that the new order will not apply to citizens who work in certain positions in state administration bodies or state-owned enterprises. For them, as before, travel abroad is possible on the basis of business trip documents.

On August 26, the government updated the procedure for crossing the state border. Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko said that men aged 18 to 22 will be able to cross the state border without hindrance during martial law.

Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko added that the purpose of this decision is primarily to provide young Ukrainians with wider opportunities for education, internships, and legal employment abroad, so that they can later use the acquired experience for the development of Ukraine.

With the beginning of the large-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and the introduction of martial law and general mobilization in the country, restrictions on the right to travel abroad were established for conscripts and conscripts aged 18 to 60.
