Details: San Diego, which was on the FBI’s “Most Wanted Terrorist” list, is suspected of two bombings: a biotech corporation in the city of Emeryville and a food company in Pleasanton, California. In August and September 2003, no one was injured in the explosions, but the FBI said one of them was aimed at harming first responders who arrived on the scene.
San Diego appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, where proceedings to extradite him to the US to face charges began.
“The arrest of Daniel San Diego after more than 20 years demonstrates that no matter how much time passes, the FBI will find you and bring you to justice,” said FBI Director Christopher Wray.
According to the FBI, the arrested man “had ties to extremist animal rights groups,” was a staunch vegan, owned a gun and had a number of tattoos, including images of burning hillsides and buildings.
San Diego disappeared from the sight of law enforcement in October 2003 and was added to the list of the most dangerous terrorists in 2009.
