In Belarus the KGB claims that the former soldier of the Kalinovsky regiment was “taken” to the country

The Belarus State Security Committee arrested activist Pavel Belyutin, and the state media showed a video depicted at the airport, the Belarusian Radio Liberty Service reports.

Pavel Belyutin was an activist of the People’s Community. The shots from the Belyutin Airport are removed from the aircraft and transferred to two men with KGB dressings and then put in the car.

According to the propagandists, Belyutin allegedly “studied a paramilitary model”, and in 2020 he was among those who planned an attack of a drone on a Belarusian nuclear power plant. No evidence is provided.

As it was reported in the plot, Vasily left for Poland in February 2022, and three months later he joined the Kalinowski regiment (a unit of the Armed Forces, which consists mainly of ethnic Belarusians – ed.).

Belta’s official news agency reported that the KGB staff “brought to Belarus from abroad of two accused, who planned a violent overthrow of the government, including an attack of a drone on a Belarusian nuclear power plant.”

At the end of 2024, the former fighter of Kalinovsky Vasily Vemeychik was detained in Vietnam and transported to Belarus. Upon completion of his service, he tried to legalize in Lithuania, but was declared a “threat to national security” and was banned from entering the country.
