Details: The Kremlin’s communique on the content of the leaders’ conversation dated November 23 states that Putin and Erdogan talked about issues of bilateral relations, as well as diplomatic efforts regarding the Russian-Ukrainian war, particularly in the context of the latest US “peace plan”.

“Vladimir Putin noted that the proposals in the version that we have seen are in line with the discussions at the Russian-American meeting in Alaska and, in principle, can form the basis of a final peace settlement,” the Kremlin said.
The communique also states that Erdogan, for his part, has expressed his readiness to facilitate the negotiation process and is ready to offer Istanbul as a venue.
What happened before:
- On November 21, when the entire list of the 28-point plan was published in the media for the first time, Putin said that Trump’s “peace plan” was discussed in general terms even before the August summit in Alaska, and after that “it was modernized.”
- On November 23, the Kremlin announced that Russia had not yet received the “official text” of the version of the “peace plan”, which was adjusted based on the results of consultations between the USA and Ukraine in Geneva.
- Last week, Erdogan received Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi in Turkey.
