Details: It is reported that in three weeks, Ukrainians have already declared more than 1,000 to the authorities of the National Police. units of firearms (including more than 350 assault rifles and 470 smoothbore rifles), as well as more than 80,000 ammunition.
Another 59 weapons and more than 18,000 pieces of ammunition were handed over to the police by citizens without declaration.

Prehistory:
- On November 25, the law of Ukraine “On ensuring the participation of civilians in the defense of Ukraine regarding the improvement of the procedure for obtaining, declaring and handling firearms” entered into force.
- Within one month, civilians who have found weapons or weapons without appropriate permits must contact the authorities of the National Police and declare all weapons.
- Both hunting and shooting weapons, i.e. combat pistols and submachine guns and ammunition for them, are subject to declaration.
