From January 1, 2025, the “Affordable Medicines” program will significantly expand. It will be replenished with new drugs related to the treatment of glaucoma, metabolic and inflammatory diseases, as well as drugs for pain relief and paleoactive care. Special attention is paid to medicines for children – drops, ointments and antibiotics for the treatment of infectious diseases.
“This is an unprecedented step by the government, because starting January 1, we will add more than 30 active substances to the program, which will double the number of available drugs, which are currently about 600,” Husak said.
The program is not focused on categories of patients, but on diagnoses. Therefore, access to medicines will be guaranteed to all Ukrainians, regardless of social status or place of residence. This is especially true for children who will have access to certain drugs. It is enough to have a prescription from a family doctor or treating doctor to receive the medicine.
Currently, almost 5 million Ukrainians use the program.
For the implementation of the program in 2025, the State Budget of Ukraine provides 6.6 billion hryvnias.
“This year we used 5 billion,” Husak noted.
We will remind
