IKEA has launched mini-beds for smartphones that encourage users to sleep without gadgets

IKEA introduced an unusual accessory — a miniature bed for a smartphone with an NFC chip. The device monitors whether the phone “sleeps” for seven hours every night for a week, and for this the owner receives vouchers for purchases in the store.

The promotion is only valid at IKEA stores in the UAE and is available to customers who spend more than $200. The goal of the campaign is to encourage users to put their phones away at night and improve their sleep quality.

In addition to NFC beds, IKEA has previously released creative items such as a stand-alone meatball plate, so the new idea continues the brand’s series of humorous but functional experiments.
