If Ukraine gets Tomahawk missiles, American contractors will help with their use – FT

If the US approves the delivery of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, they will be delivered relatively quickly, and American contractors will be brought in to assist in their use. This is reported by the Financial Times with reference to a high-ranking military official who was involved in the supply discussions.

According to the publication, this would eliminate the need for long-term training of the Ukrainian military, as well as would allow the US to retain control over target selection and other issues. In addition, this would minimize the risks of missile technology reaching the Russians.

At the same time, NATO is sure that the missiles Tomahawk “will complement what Ukraine has already achieved” with the help of its long-range dronesbut will not replace them.

Also a senior NATO official said Moscow would likely respond with “irresponsible rhetoric that will include some nuclear weapons rattling,” as well as increased attacks along the front line and “some bigger strikes” inside Ukraine.

“But I don’t think that there is any very concrete, specific response that the Russians could implement and that would really be something unpredictable,” the official added.

Earlier it was reported that the USA will be able to transfer from 20 to 50 missiles to Ukraine. One of the reasons for such a number is that in 2022, the Pentagon purchased only 200 missiles and has already spent more than 120.
