The famous Ukrainian football player Andriy Bohdanov recalled how at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia on the territory of Ukraine, he dared to join the ranks of the army.

“A sense of duty came, and I made this decision. I thought that it was necessary to do something to help in this very difficult period for the country.

I did not consult with anyone in particular. When there is a war, it is always scary. You understand,” Bohdanov said in an interview with Ukrainian Football.

Also, the former football player of the Ukrainian national team said that he served in the ranks of the territorial defense. He did not take part in hostilities and explained why he is no longer in the army.

“He was in the Military Security Council. However, I don’t want to talk about it anymore. Now is a difficult time, and everyone needs to work for victory. We will believe in this victory.

I resigned a year ago due to family reasons,” Bohdanov added.
