Former heavyweight world champion Mairis Briedis commented on Tyson Fury’s decision to end his career after two consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk.
“Excellent fighter”: Usyk admitted whether he will fight the undefeated champion
The Latvian expressed the opinion that the Gypsy King can still return to the professional ring.
“I think it’s too early [він завершив кар’єру]. In fact, his career was very colorful. In 2015, after the victory over Klitschko, he fell into some kind of depression, but we will not condemn him. He used drugs, then even wanted to commit suicide. It is necessary to work with the psyche there.
“He has already announced it five times.” Usyk’s ex-rival revealed the real reason behind Fury’s decision to end his career
He is a very talented boxer, God gave him enormous height, reach and arm length. He always managed to switch between lightness and hardness and even knocked out many.
He had some problems with doping. He sings, knows how to talk. I think his intelligence is quite high.
I think Tyson will come back. I’m giving 3-to-1 odds that we’ll see him again,” Briedis said in a video on his YouTube channel.
We will remind, in 2018, Briedis suffered the first defeat in his professional career from Usyk.
It was previously reported that Usyk will decide on his next opponent after the DuBois-Parker match.
