Direct language Andrei Yusov’s coordination representative: “The very fact that we discuss the issue of returning the bodies of Ukrainian civilians – is a sign of mass military crimes of Russia … Among the returned are bodies with signs of at least a violation of conditions of detention and these are not isolated cases. But we are very careful commenting on this topic, since the relatives of many Ukrainian people, and their people, are not more like. Therefore, only after the investigation and the establishment of certain facts, appropriate comments are possible. ”

Details: According to Maxim Tsuciridze, the head of the National Police Investigation Department, the identification of bodies is carried out in two ways: a visual inspection of the body and a DNA analysis. According to him, 4,600 people were recognized by external grounds (tattoos, prostheses, etc.), but at the same time, DNA examination was performed for each body.

More than 3,200 bodies remain unidentified.

Tsuciridze added that the load on investigators engaged in appropriate investigations, compared to the pre -war level, increased by 300%. Currently, law enforcement officers are investigating about 70,000 criminal proceedings on the facts of persons missing in special circumstances of persons (both civilians and servicemen, as well as relatives and relatives who have lost contact with people in the occupied territories). 2,000 law enforcement officers are involved in this work.
