At the age of 83, Paul Plyshka, a well-known opera singer who worked in the Metropolitan Opera, died.

Plishka died on Monday, February 3, in Hospice in Wilmington, North Carolina, his wife, Sheron Thomas, reported on Wednesday, February 5.

The debut at the opera singer’s career took place on September 21, 1967, and he played his last performance on March 10, 2018. During this time, Plyshka appeared in 1672 performances, becoming a well-known opera performer in the metro-opera.

Plishka was born in a family of Ukrainian emigrants on August 28, 1941, grew up in Old-Forge, Pennsylvania, and together with his family moved to Paterson, New Jersey.

When he was 16, the future opera singer attended Eastidal High School, and the teacher sent him to the opera after he heard the student’s voice. Plishka studied music at Montclair State College and made his debut at the Paterson Lyric Opera Theater.
