The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine warned on June 2 that the Russian special services intensified attempts to recruit citizens of Ukraine in order to involve them in illegal activities in the territory of the European Union.

“Potential performers are offered a monetary reward for participation in illegal activity, monitoring the objects of critical infrastructure and performing other tasks in favor of the aggressor state. It is mainly about Ukrainians from temporarily occupied territories who were in a difficult situation, ”the message reads.

GUR emphasized that such recruitment of Ukrainians is “another tool of hybrid aggression”, which Russia leads against Ukraine and the entire European community.

In case of attempting to contact the suspicious persons, the General Directorate of Intelligence was called to contact the suspicious persons immediately to the law enforcement agencies of the country of residence or Ukrainian diplomatic institutions.

Last month, the German Prosecutor’s Office reported the arrest of three citizens of Ukraine in this country and in Switzerland on suspicion of agent for diversions.

In April, intelligence of the Netherlands declared an increase in hybrid attacks by the Russian Federation.
