GUR: an An-72 military transport plane exploded at the airfield near Moscow

An An-72 military transport aircraft belonging to the Russian Navy exploded at the Ostafyevo airfield in the Moscow Region of Russia, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said.

According to a report published on December 20, this happened last week, on December 12.

“The main power plant of the An-72 military transport aircraft detonated… The estimated cost of the disabled Russian aircraft is about 4.5 million dollars,” the State Security Service noted. What caused the explosion is not specified.

The Russian authorities did not report the explosion of the plane.
