“What will be the consequences? NATO is based on the principle: one for all, all for one,” said Brugger.

“And if this ceases to be the case because one, and in fact the most powerful, member state blackmails and attacks another in this way, then NATO will become history,” she added.

According to her, this is primarily beneficial to the Kremlin. “Vladimir Putin will be the happiest about this, because this is his biggest dream,” Brugger added.

It will be recalled that during the Sunday interview with The Atlantic magazine about the actions of the US in Venezuela, Trump once again confirmed his desire to control Greenland.

He repeated his comments about Greenland during a conversation with reporters aboard Air Force One, saying the US needed control of Greenland.

The prime ministers of Denmark and Greenland called on Trump to stop the pressure and threats against the island.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson expressed support for Denmark and Greenland. The Baltic countries also came forward in support.
