Details: The BND head stressed that Moscow no longer believes in the reliability of the NATO collective defense system, in particular in Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty, which guarantees mutual protection in the event of an attack on one of the Alliance Member States. According to him, the Kremlin can try to check this guarantee in practice.

“We are absolutely confident and have reconnaissance evidence to confirm that (a full -scale invasion of Russia in – ed.) Ukraine is only one stage in its way to the west,” he said.
Calt specified that this “does not mean that we expect to invade large tank battalions from east to west.”
German Minister Boris Pistorius had previously expressed similar reservations. He repeatedly stated that Germany should be “ready for war” by the end of this decade.
“Our experts estimate that this can happen between five and eight years,” Pistorius said in an interview with Tagesspiegel last year.
The Danish military intelligence in its February report concluded that after the end of the war in Ukraine, Russia will be able to transfer significant forces to the borders of other European countries within half a year.
Cal warned that Russia seeks to “push NATO to the borders of the 1990s”, “to push the US from Europe” and “to expand its influence at any cost.”
“We have to suppress this at the beginning,” Kal emphasized.
At the same time, he noted that despite some tension, cooperation with the United States remains stable.
“Americans are very serious about Article 5, but at the same time they are rightly insisting that Europe has to contribute,” he said.
The Deputy Chairman of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BFV) Sinan Selim reported that Russia is increasingly using cyberattacks and diversions against Western countries.
“We have recorded that Russian aggression against Ukraine has led to the fact that our kybroboron and opposition of espionage are increasingly undergoing a serious check,” Selim said.
The BFV annual report states that Russia has begun to actively use the so -called “lower -level agents” for sabotage, including the placement of inflammatory devices in parcels, which caused a number of fires in the logistics centers of Europe.
