As the Georgia courts have already condemned the country’s expansion in total up to nine years in prison, the judge stated that he would eventually be in prison for 12 years and six months.

“This sentence (term in the case of illegal border crossing) is partially attached to the punishment imposed by the sentence of the Tbilisi City Court of March 12 2025 [у “справі про піджаки”]- eight years … As a result, by the aggregate of sentences, Mikhail Saakashvili establishes a final punishment in the form of imprisonment for a period of 12 years and six months, “the judge said.

Therefore, according to this sentence, Saakashvili will remain in prison until April 1, 2034.

In the context of the case of illegal crossing the border, it should be noted that Saakashvili, who was wanted, secretly arrived in Georgia on September 29, 2021 and was arrested on October 1.
