Georgia Parliament ceased the authority of deputies of three opposition coalitions

It is noted that the legitimacy of this composition of the Parliament is not recognized by the fifth President Salome Zurabishvili, the opposition and much of the citizens.

And the basis for such a decision was the statements of deputies, who in November 2024 officially appealed to terminate their powers.

At the moment, only 12 representatives of Gahari for Georgia remain in parliament.

This political force, like other opposition parties, does not recognize the election results on October 26, 2024 and does not participate in the work of parliament. At the same time, her deputies did not apply for mandates,

According to the CEC, as a result of the last elections, “Strong Georgia” received 14 seats in parliament, “Coalition for changes” – 19, and “Unity – National Movement” – 16. In November and December, representatives of these political forces announced their intention to stop their termination early powers.

Meanwhile, mass protests are ongoing in the country, demanding that new parliamentary elections – the actions of disagreements began in November 2024.
