General Staff: Ukrainian military liberated 182.8 square km of Pokrovsky district

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that Ukrainian forces are conducting both stabilization and counter-subversive measures, in particular in the city of Pokrovsk and its surroundings, as well as “active defense measures” on the territory of the Pokrovsk district of the Donetsk region.

“In general, in the course of the operation, which has been ongoing since August 21, 2025, the Defense Forces neutralized at least 13,945 Russian occupiers (including 8,402 – irreversible, 5,419 – wounded, 124 – prisoners). Ukrainian defenders liberated 182.8 square kilometers of the Pokrovsky district of Donetsk region. Another 230.1 square kilometers have been cleared of the enemy’s DRG,” the message reads.

In the intelligence of Great Britain, analyzing the advancement of Russian troops at the front, on October 16, they once again stated that Pokrovsk probably remains a priority for Russia, with the largest share of Russian attacks here compared to the rest of the front line.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported a total of 184 skirmishes in a summary of the situation at the front during the previous day. According to the command, the largest number of Russian attacks (56) were in the Pokrovsky direction, and anti-sabotage measures are ongoing in Kupyansk.

On October 14, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported that in the Pokrovsky district of Donetsk region, Ukrainian forces advanced up to 1.6 kilometers in some directions.
