General Staff: Ukrainian military cleaned six villages in the Pokrovsky direction

The General Staff of the Armed Forces reports that in the Pokrovsky direction the Ukrainian forces, in particular the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov” together with adjacent and subordinate units, stopped the promotion of Russian forces in the last three days and cleaned six villages.

“The following settlements were cleared as a result of search and shock actions: Georgian, Rubizhne, Novovodane, Petrivka, Merry, Golden Well,”-said in the message.

According to the command, the Russian army lost 271 soldiers dead, 101 wounded and 13 captives.

“Conducting stabilization actions in the Dobropilsk direction continues,” – the message reads.

Following the meeting of the Supreme Commander -in -Chief’s meeting, the Commander -in -Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrsky stated that the Ukrainian forces in the Pokrovsky and Dobropilsk directions “increase pressure on the occupiers, counteract the enemy’s attempts to move forward”.

“The necessary decisions are made to strengthen these and other areas – in the Donetsk region, in Zaporozhye, etc. … The enemy throws new” cannon meat “into battle and suffers significant losses to report it against the background of negotiations in Alaska,” he added.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Russian forces were intensified in the Donetsk region to “form a certain information space” before a meeting between US and Russia Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin on August 15.

On the eve of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, they declared the breakthrough of groups of Russian military towards the city of Dobropillya in Donetsk region, which threatened to significantly worsen the defense of Ukrainian positions both in the Pokrovsk region and near Konstantinovka. The Armed Forces declared stabilization of the situation in the Dobropil direction.

Earlier this week, the promotion of Russian troops for almost a dozen kilometers in the direction of Dobropillya marked on his map the analytical project of Deepstate. The spokesman of the operative-strategic group of the Dnipro troops, Lieutenant Colonel Victor Tregubov the next day stated that in Dobropil and Pokrovsky directions Russian troops use the tactics of “impregnation”, which creates a false impression of advancement. But, he said, “impregnation” does not mean that the enemy has taken this territory under control.
