“In the direction of Pokrovsky, our defenders stopped 41 assault actions of the aggressor near the settlements of Shakhove, Dorozhne, Rodynske, Myrnograd, Pokrovsk, Kotlyna, Udachne, Molodetske and in the direction of Filia and Novopavlivka,” the message reads.
According to the command, Ukrainian forces also repelled Russian assaults in the North-Slobozhansk and Kursk, South-Slobozhansk, Kupyansk, Lymansk, Slovyansk, Kramatorsk, Kostiantynovsky, Oleksandrivsk, Gulyaipil, Orichiv, and Dnieper directions.
On January 22, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that the Defense Forces continue to restrain Russian troops in Pokrovsk and Myrnograd in Donetsk region, as small groups of the Russian Federation are trying to infiltrate the northern regions of both cities.

Before that, the “East” military group reported that Ukrainian units continue active operations in the area of the Pokrovsk-Myrnograd agglomeration and control the northern parts of both cities.
On January 19, Syrskyi reported that a grueling confrontation is ongoing in the Pokrovsk-Myrnograd agglomeration area: the Russian army is pulling up reserves to Pokrovsk, looking for opportunities to break through Ukrainian defenses both through sporadic mass assaults and through the covert advance of small infantry groups.
Fighting in Pokrovsk has been going on since October 2025, when the Russian army managed to break through to the city after several months of fighting on its slopes. Almost immediately, Russian soldiers began to be recorded in Pokrovsk’s satellite city of Mirnograd. The Pokrovsky direction, according to the reports of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, constantly leads in terms of the number of Russian assaults.
