At the front, since the beginning of the day on January 22, 123 combat clashes took place, about half of them – in the Pokrovsky direction, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported as of 4:00 p.m.

“In the Pokrovsky direction, since the beginning of the day, the Russian occupiers have made 56 attempts to dislodge our soldiers from their occupied positions in the areas of the settlements of Shakhove, Ivanivka, Dorozhne, Rodynske, Suhetske, Pokrovsk, Kotlyna, Udachne, Molodetske, Gorikhove, Dachne and in the direction of Novopavlivka. “Clashes are currently ongoing in some locations,” the message reads.

In addition, according to the General Staff, there were 20 Russian attacks in the Gulyaipil direction.

Combat clashes also continued in the North-Slobozhansk and Kursk, South-Slobozhansk, Kupyansk, Lymansk, Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, Kostiantynovsky, Oleksandrivsk, Orichivsk and Prydniprovsk directions.

On January 19, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported that a grueling confrontation is ongoing in the Pokrovsk-Myrnograd agglomeration area. According to him, the Russian army is trying to build up pressure – it is pulling reserves to Pokrovsk, looking for opportunities to break through the Ukrainian defense both through sporadic mass assaults and through covert advances by small infantry groups.

On the evening of January 21, the “East” military group reported that Ukrainian units continue active operations in the area of ​​the Pokrovsk-Myrnograd agglomeration, and the Russian army “suffers significant losses.”
