Since the beginning of the day, 118 combat clashes have taken place at the front, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported as of 22:00 on January 15.

Most of the clashes were in the Pokrovsky direction, according to the data provided by the General Staff.

“In the Pokrovsky direction, since the beginning of this day, the enemy has attacked in the areas of the settlements of Baranivka, Myrolyubivka, Promin, Novy Trud, Shevchenko, Udachne, Kotlyne, Petropavlivka, Stari Terny, Yantarne, Elizavetivka, Lysivka, Zelene, Zvirove, Uspenivka, Andriivka, and Dachne. Our defenders stopped 41 enemy assaults. Six more attacks are ongoing so far,” the report said.

According to the command, combat operations also continued in the Kharkiv, Kupyan, Lyman, Kramatorsk, Toretsk, Novopavliv, Orihiv directions and in Kurshchyna.

According to the observations of the American Institute for the Study of War on January 13, Russian troops are cutting roads to the east and west of Pokrovsk in an attempt to surround the city.

The DeepState Project and the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) previously reported that the Russian army is actively capturing new territories to the south, southeast and east of Pokrovsk in the first days of 2025.

Viktor Tregubov, the spokesman for the Khortytsia operational-strategic group of troops, reported that Russian troops are trying to bypass the city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region in order to break logistical chains and take the city under operational encirclement.
