General Staff of the Armed Forces: since the beginning of the day, there have been 164 combat clashes at the front

Since the beginning of the day, the total number of combat clashes along the entire front line has increased to 164, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on December 23.

“The enemy has attacked 21 times since the beginning of the day, 11 attacks have been repulsed, and fierce battles are going on,” the report says.

According to the headquarters, seven Russian assaults have already been repulsed by the Armed Forces in the areas of the settlements of Kurakhove, Petropavlivka, Sontsivka, Stari Terny and Andriivka in the Kurakhov direction, and 11 clashes are still ongoing.

“On the Lymanskyi direction, the enemy attacked 17 times in the areas of Grekivka, Novoyehorivka, Zeleny Gayu, Nova Kruglyakivka, Tverdokhlibovo, Nadia, Novosergiivka, Terniv and Ivanovka, six clashes are currently incomplete,” the military said.

Combat clashes also took place in the Kharkiv, Siver, Kramatorsk, Toretsk, Vremiv, Gulyaipil and Orihiv directions.

As reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi, as of December 17, the Defense Forces are conducting active combat operations on a section of the front with a total length of more than 1,170 kilometers, the most difficult situation now is in the Pokrovsky and Kurakhiv directions.
