According to the report, the invaders carried out offensive actions towards the settlements of Vodiane Druge, Zelene Pole, Malinivka, Pokrovsk, Kotlyne, Zvirove, Udachne, Novoandriivka, Elizavetivka, Promin, Lysivka, Zelene, Shevchenko, Uspenivka, Slovianka, Andriivka, Dachne, Ulakli and Amber.
In total, 199 combat clashes were recorded on the front during the past day, the command says. Combat operations also continued in the Kharkiv, Kupyan, Lyman, Siver, Kramatorsk, Toretsk, Novopavliv, Orihiv, Dnieper directions and in Kurshchyna.
The other day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said in an interview with Polish mass media that the most difficult situation at the front is in the east of Ukraine, where there is a large concentration of Russian troops and equipment, and where there are fewer Ukrainian troops. The President added that there is a lack of aid at the front and, above all, it is not a question of the number of people – currently there are brigades that are staffed with 60-70% weapons due to the delay in the delivery of aid from Ukraine’s partners.
According to the observations of the Institute for the Study of War on January 13, Russian troops are cutting roads to the east and west of Pokrovsk in an attempt to surround the city.
The DeepState project and the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that the Russian army in the first days of 2025 is actively capturing new territories to the south, southeast and east of Pokrovsk.
Viktor Tregubov, the spokesman of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group of troops, reported that Russian troops are trying to bypass the city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region in order to break logistical chains and take the city into an operational encirclement.
