The day before, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said that the Russian troops are concentrating their main efforts on the Pokrovsky and Ocheretynsk directions, not giving up attempts to break through, increasing pressure and raising reserves.
“The operational situation here is difficult. In the past week alone, about 400 combat clashes took place in these directions,” Syrskyi wrote on social networks.
According to him, the Russian army continues to use the tactics of advancing in small infantry groups.
Earlier, the “East” military group reported that Ukrainian units continue active operations in the area of the Pokrovsk-Myrnograd agglomeration and control the northern parts of both cities.
Fighting in Pokrovsk has been going on since October 2025, when the Russian army managed to break through to the city after several months of fighting on its slopes. Almost immediately, Russian soldiers began to be recorded in Pokrovsk’s satellite city of Mirnograd. The Pokrovsky direction, according to the reports of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, constantly leads in terms of the number of Russian assaults.
