“I support any position that provides a balance between the need to support the attacked country and the need to protect your own production. You know that when the customs duties were removed, it immediately and deeply destabilized a number of industries in our country,” Genevary said.
“I mean poultry farming. I also see in the grain sphere that grain is not part of the transactions, and if you look at the dynamics of import, in particular from Ukraine, it also destabilizes our own production,” she detailed.
Therefore, according to the French Minister, “the support of Ukraine cannot be carried out without taking into account the consequences that it may have for our own production. The search for this balance is necessary for me.”
As it was reported, on May 22, the European Commission approved the list of transitional measures for Ukrainian exports to the EU, which will come into force on June 6, 2025 after the expiry of autonomous trade measures for Ukraine, known as “trade visa waiver”.
Even at the end of April, “European truth” wrote that the European Commission did not plan to continue the regime of autonomous trade measures for Ukraine (the so -called “trade visa waiver”), which operates until June 5, but will ensure a smooth transition to a new scheme, where all conditions of trade liberalization will be recorded in the Agreement.
