Who is the initiator of the “Ukrainian flag movement”? In most cases, the initiative for such actions does not come from combat units and is not a request from the battlefield.
As a rule, its source is the management unit, which is under pressure inspections, commissions, official investigations, the need to urgently confirm the control or stability of the situation, the need to provide “visual confirmation” in response to hostile information leaks.
At this moment, a request is formed not for the real state of affairs, but for a picture that is capable to calm the management, temporarily remove some issue and buy time to avoid responsibility.
Importantlythat to date, it already has a kind of centralized character and systematic practice, a management decision that is often taken without full awareness of the combat risks and the cost of the resource involved.
For whom and why is it done? Ukrainian flag bearer does not change the real situation on the ground, does not affect objective OSINT resources (in particular DeepState) and does not facilitate the situation of fighters in positions.
Its only function is the short-term closure of an administrative or information request.
For society, such a demonstration has almost no effect, but for the management system it creates an illusion of control that does not stand up to reality.

The same Mavic, which instead of bringing some provisions to the position of the fighter in the dugout/trench, will drop him a flag with a note and an algorithm of actions.
Human resource. The fighter will have to act according to the algorithm on the drone camera, risking being detected, being destroyed altogether during such demonstration actions, or waiting for other unpleasant surprises from the enemy.
In some cases, other means are also involved (in particular NRK), which further increases the price of such a “picture”.
Each stage – this is not combat work, but the fulfillment of a third-party request using a resource worth thousands of dollars and with a direct risk to life.
