Fixed Internet Ukrainian Market: Revenue has fallen by 30%

Dmitry Kazantsev Dmitry has more than 5 years of experience in journalism, writes SEO text, as well as articles about IT business, economics, startups. He is fond of Naukpope, jazz and cinema.

Following the prohibition of a simplified taxation system, revenues in the fixed Internet market in the fourth quarter of 2024 fell by 30%.

As stated in the analysis of the BRDO effective regulation office, market revenues have fallen to UAH 4.3 billion compared to the third quarter, which has been the lowest since 2022.

It is noted that the number of fixed Internet users decreased by 3.5% to 8.2 million subscribers compared to the first half of 2024. At the same time, subscribers’ reporting is recorded in 2024: more than 40% of income reported companies did not provide a subscriber database.

This incompleteness of reporting has been recorded for the first time since 2021. As of the end of last year, the list of the largest companies included new players-PJSC “Farlep-Invest” and LLC of NPP “Tenet”, while LLC “Mega Link” and LLC “Gigatrans Ukraine” left.

“The prohibition of” simplified “has become a catalyst for changes in the market of fixed Internet. We already see a sharp fall in income, incomplete reporting and the first signs of market reformatting. These are alarming signals that are jeopardizing competition in the industry and accessibility of the Internet to the population,” said the head of the Sector.

It should be reminded that in 2024 the State Tax Service of Ukraine forbade Internet suppliers to work on a simplified taxation system. According to BRDO experts, this practice is contrary to the Tax Code of Ukraine and the Law on Electronic Communications.
