“We are waiting for an additional supply of aircraft – this is a significant strengthening of our capabilities in the air,” he wrote, without giving other details.
He also noted that Ukraine is counting on the supply by France of interceptor missiles for the SAMP/T and Crotale air defense systems and long-range weapons.
“I am grateful for the readiness to hand over additional French-made missiles in the near future,” Fedorov said.
In addition, in the conversation, Fedorov thanked France for its principled position in countering the “shadow fleet” of the Russian Federation.
“I thanked France for the long-term, consistent cooperation and strong contribution to the development of our anti-aircraft and aviation capabilities. This is a partnership that is already working to protect Ukrainian skies,” the minister noted.
It will be recalled that in October, French President Emmanuel Macron promised to transfer more Mirage to Ukraine. At that time, as far as is known, Ukraine already had three planes out of the promised six, one of them was lost. Ukraine received the first planes almost a year ago, in February 2025.
In November, Ukraine and France signed a document providing for the purchase for Ukraine of up to 100 French Rafale fighters, as well as air defense equipment and French-made drones.
