Mikhail Vyacheslav’s daughter, who died in the Trade Union House, will receive the highest compensation of 17 thousand euros. She also complained that she was unreasonably not issued her father’s body for burial.
On May 2, 2014, pro -Russian activists with firearms attacked the march of football fans and pro -Ukrainian forces in the center of Odessa. Six people of the march participated were killed. Subsequently, pro -Ukrainian protesters gathered for a new demonstration and moved to the Kulikovo Field Square, where a tent camp of pro -Russian activists was located.
Pro -Russian activists and their supporters hid in the building of the Trade Union House. Both sides threw a bottle with a flammable liquid into each other. As a result of the fire that arose in the house, when trying to jump out of it and as a result of the use of pro -Russian activists of firearms, 42 people on both sides of the conflict were killed there. Also, about 200 people were injured in the course of confrontations that day.
Russia used events in Odessa on May 2, 2014 to strengthen anti -Ukrainian propaganda, presenting it as evidence of “fascism” in Ukraine and allegedly aggression of pro -Russian forces against pro -Russian activists.
