Committees’ heads note that Ukraine’s future can only be determined by the Ukrainians themselves, following the fundamental principle: “Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine”.

“European states should also participate in negotiations to minimize the risks to European security that Russia’s aggression against Ukraine,” the heads of parliamentary committees stressed.

They added that Russia would probably try to use negotiations as an excuse to avoid unconditional ceasefire and to reduce sanctions.

In this connection, they called on to demonstrate the unity, determination and loyalty to universal rights, so that the result of any negotiation really serves the case of freedom.

The text of the statement was signed by 27 heads of parliamentary committees in foreign affairs, including from Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Czech Republic, Moldova, Britain, Finland, Luxembourg, Bulgaria, Iceland, Norway, Austria, Belgia, Sweden, Sweden, France, France, France.
