“Ukraine should conduct spiritual and ethical dialogue with India. We have two unique assets: advanced military technologies and the moral voice of the people who fight for freedom.”, – WRITE: www.pravda.com.ua
This indifference costs us. Each barrel of Russian oil, which pays for an Indian importer, converts into an explosion near Kharkiv or a wreck of “dagger” over Kiev.
A bill in barrels and life After the start of a full -scale invasion of India has become a “small client” into an economic oxygen mask of the Kremlin: today it buys about 2.1 million barrels of Russian oil daily, that is, approximately 40% of all Russian exports.
Advertising:
In the last week of June 2025, India’s share in Russian oil exports was 38%. Compared to the lower estimate of Russia’s annual military expenditures ($ 100 billion), $ 52.7 billion of Indian oil dollars can be ≈ 53 % of the annual budget of military aggression against Ukraine.
If you operate a broader SIPRI ($ 172 billion), ≈ 31 % of Indian investments in the murder of Ukrainians. Therefore, even with a conservative approach, Indian purchases can cover a third of the Kremlin’s annual military expenditures, and by the “front” method – more than half.
These are billions of dollars that instantly turn into shells that pour into our trenches, and the chessi that arrive in the sleeping areas.
Let’s put the numbers next to human reality. Indian import brings more than $ 120 million a day to Moscow. In one such day, we lose from hundreds of Ukrainian lives at the front. When we talk about oil, we actually count – blood.
Why Ukraine will not be able to surpass the “material” crane of We are not able to compete with Russia. In this game, David does not win Goliath with “meat” and the number of rockets. We need a slide – an intellectual tool. In part, we already have it: it is our “Hard Skills” of the Dron War. Ukrainian “kinetic sanctions” on Russian refineries are often more effective than paper restrictions on the event.
But there is another, almost virgin dimension-“Soft Skills” spiritual and ethical dialogue, where Ukraine is potentially able to do what Russia can never: honestly appeal to Indian moral and ethical guidelines.
A common ethics of Dgarma that exposes Russia India is a very religious country with its traditional religious and moral values. She considers herself a treasure trove of spiritual knowledge of human civilization and is proud of her spiritual and cultural heritage.
The confirmation of the said is information about the idea of official renaming of India. The leaders of the country believe that the use of the ancient name “Barrat” instead of “India” will contribute to the education of a sense of national pride and preserving the rich cultural heritage of the country. And a similar identification with its cultural and spiritual heritage is the key to the hearts of a multinational Indian society.
Proper work with the sensory for the psychology of Indian audience, points will allow, without considerable material costs, to “translate” the essence and content “of the formula of just peace” of Ukraine in the language of moral terms and meanings that are clear to Indian society.
Despite the common cliché, India is not the country of victorious pacifism, and Mahatma Gandhi’s worldview is not a dominant standard at all. The country is known as the homeland of non -violence and many are familiar with the Indian term Ahims. However, few people know that Indian scriptures include Ahims as a rejection of unjust use, hence the vegetarianism of Hindus. But the fair use of force to protect against the actions of the offender Veda is considered a good, and in Sanskrit it is called Natichims.
So, despite the false perception, the moral axioms of India are no different from the Ukrainian ones. In terms of protection of the right to life and freedom, ancient Indian writings have no concept of neutrality at all. On the contrary, Indian sacred texts contain well -made concepts of darma and adgrama – law and crime, good and evil, as well as differentiation of people into moral and thieves.
The Great Ancient Indian epic “Mahabgararat” and “Ramayana” are devoted to the disclosure of these aspects of morality. In ancient Indian texts, there is a clear definition of the aggressor (Sanskrit.-Atatay), as well as the concept of “fair repel” to aggression (Sanskry. In particular, aggressors include categories such as: poisoning; Pali; killers attacking you with weapons; robbers that steal your property; thieves that capture your land; The abductors of your family members and more. According to the requirements of Indian Vedas, such villains must be immediately punished.
An example with India’s reaction to the trial of “Bagawad-Gita” in Tomsk The extent to which Indian society identifies itself with its religious texts is illustrated when in 2011 in the Russian city of Tomsk the prosecutor’s office filed a lawsuit demanding a translation of “Bgagavad-Gita” by extremist literature, which caused an international scandal. Bgagavad-Gita is a sacred Bible of Hinduism for more than five hundred of its denominations. When this information reached India, indignation broke out there – the Parliament blocked the work for several days, protesting against the decision of the Russian authorities. This forced the then Prime Minister of India Mommohan Singha to visit Moscow to discuss the situation and reduce the tension between the countries.
Information counter-offensive: Speech with “Bagavad-Gita” in your hands What is the easiest way to “translate” the Ukrainian formula of just peace into India? Imagine an information operation with the use of a visit to India of our country with a talented public speech (such as in parliament) with the correct use of sensual meanings for Indians, will expected a radical revolution in the perception of Indian Society in Ukraine.
It can be confidently predicted that the speech of the President of the belligerent Ukraine, with the sacral for Hindus “Bgagavad-Gita” in the hands and by citation a mile of one and a half -amillarian Indian society. Hindus is very sentimental and with the proper organization of the event, applause to President Zelensky will be louder than in the Israeli Parliament. And in addition, the Ukrainian “just peace” formula, outlined in the language of concepts understandable to Hindus, will finally be perceived as positively as possible.
It’s not expensive. It is only necessary to prepare the messages in which we will simultaneously show respect for the spiritual grandeur of India and recall that the real Ahimsa is to stop evil, not to close your eyes.
Protestant precedent: When the “soft” power changes the budget In 2024 when Due to the intrigue of Donald Trump, the US Congress “frozen” another package of assistance in Kiev for half a year, it was the American pastors who were mobilized by Ukrainian Protestants, and broke up. Letters, sermons and direct work with the Republican voters returned the topic of moral duty to support the victim of aggression on the first pages – and eventually found voices. This clearly proves that the religious channel of influence can “defrost” politics even in skeptical democracies, to say about traditionalist barkarat.
From tactics to system: road card for Kiev
- Analytics of the audience. The research team of Ukrainian and Indian experts captures what images of military justice resonately resonate with local media and opinions.
- Character language. We replace the dry diplomatic memorandums with quotes from Mahabgararat about the duty of the king to defend subjects, draw parallels with the defense of Kiev in 2022.
- Platform of spiritual understanding. Joint forums with the participation of Ukrainian military-war and Indian theologians show that Darm is not a theory, but a practice: a front Vaishshchu, who has just returned from the forefront, would better explain and reminds the Indians the value of their darmas than a thousand articles.
- Digital campaign. Short videos of Hindi and English: “Ukraine-Darma-Yudh of the XXI century.”; Infographic, how many schools can be built for money that destroy Ukraine daily.
- Pressure points on business. Public Discussion in Indian Business Media: “Is it ethical to buy oil that funds an aggressor that tramples on Natichimsa’s principles?” When morality becomes a branded risk, the calculators begin to swell differently.
Conclusion: From indifference to solidarity Our duel with Goliath cannot be won by “oil dollar”, but it is possible – the light. Ukraine has two unique assets: advanced military technologies and the moral voice of the people who fight for freedom. Russia is able to sell India discounted oil, but it will never sell it honesty to Dgarma.
When we learn to speak this language, the pulse of Ukrainian-Indian relations will change. For every thousand barrels that will not enter the Russian budget, we will save several lives near Kupyansk or Odessa. This is the real Ahimsa – to stretch a hand to those who are killed, and turn the hand of the one who pays for the weapon of evil.
